Lilia Rivera
Lilia is a DONA-trained Birth Doula, working towards certification. She has completed the BEC Professional Doula Series, observed HypnoBirthing, certified in Rebozo, and trained in traditional belly binding. Lilia is also working towards certifying as a Holistic Doula and becoming a Lamaze Birth Educator. Lilia is fluent in Spanish and attends births in San Diego and the Tijuana/Tecate area of Mexico. Birth work came into Lilia’s life after the births of her own two babies. Through first-hand experience, then furthered by study and hands-on practice, Lilia deeply appreciates the importance for parents to be educated, empowered, and backed by a well-prepared birth team. Lilia loves the privilege that is to witness birthing families equip themselves with adequate knowledge and support so they may be fully present, channel desired energy, and enjoy the one and only unforgettable birth of their baby.
*While the professional birth and postpartum doulas listed on the website are carefully screened and selected by the Birth Education Center, they are not employees. All doulas invest in the program by paying a yearly listing fee. By entering into contract with your doula, you do so at your own risk. The doulas are responsible for the means and methods for providing non-medical support to families, within their scope of practice.
